Today, I am celebrating my 5 years blogiversary! I’ll be honest with you, I have never put much thought into how long I have been blogging and I have not once remembered a “blogiversary” but that clearly changed this year. This past Saturday, April 8, 2017 marked 5 years of blogging for me. This is a very bittersweet celebration. The bitter is that means 5 years of infertility. The sweet is all the blessings that have come along the way.
If you haven’t picked up a copy of my book, then you might not know why me, the financial guru, started blogging. You can find out more in my book, but the short story for here is a week after our infertility diagnosis God told me to. This whole journey has been a huge step of faith and a leap way out of my comfort zone, but by the grace of God, I have continued to write. And although there have been many blessings along the way, there have been many challenges too.
What you might not know is that I first started on blogger with a different blog name, “Team Harries Beats Infertility.” (Awful, I know). I re-branded in 2013 to ‘In Due Time’ with the help of my husband picking my blog name. I did a very minor re-brand again this past fall before the launch of my book and got a new logo as well as made updates to my social media handle names.
Here I am, 5 years later, still blogging 3-4 days a week. I am forever grateful for all the blessings blogging has brought along the way. Later this week I will be sharing more as well as sharing the truth of what it’s like to be a blogger.
Blogging has been more than just this space on the internet as it is what led me to write my first book, In Due Time: Hope and Encouragement in the Waiting. So to celebrate my blogiversary, I am giving 15% off my book THIS week. Please use the code blogiversary5 in the cart to get 15% off your full purchase. If you subscribe via email you can get 20% off {sign up using sidebar}.
And while this isn’t directly related, I am now planning my first annual conference, for my faith-based fertility ministry, Moms in the Making. A group that has brought me so many friendships and given me the opportunity to celebrate so many miracles, both from ladies I have met locally and those I have met online as well. The online group has now expanded to over 1,200+ women.
I also recently created a group over on facebook, In Due Time, that is an extension of this blog and my book. It’s a women only, faith-based group where we discuss all things about life: faith, health, travel, recipes, etc. I would love for you to join us!
My readers and followers are the ones who have made this blogging journey possible and worth it. So, whether this is the first time you have stopped by or you have been here since the beginning, I wanted to say thank you. Sincerely, thank you. Thank you for investing in me and this blog. If you haven’t yet said hi, please do so. My favorite part of this journey have been connecting with people all over the world.
I have no idea what the next 5 years will bring, but I am expectant an excited to see what it holds. I plan on sharing more this week about my personal experience with being a blogger, including both the ups and downs. To me, being a successful blogger has nothing to do with statistics, but has all to do with being obedient to what God has called me to whether that means encouraging 1 person or 1 million people.
